Coaching FAQ’s

What is Coaching?

Coaching is a professional partnership in which we work together in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires you to maximize your personal and professional potential. Coaches help you fill the gap between where you are today and where you want to be. Coaching is distinct from consulting in that I will help you come up with your answers rather than advising. It is different from therapy, we address any obstacles that keep you from achieving your goals, but we will not engage in therapy or any psychological area that requires training and licensing.

What happens in my First Session?

Your First Session lets you experience coaching and to see how it can transform your business and life. Coaching is best experienced than explained. The sessions are as long as you have time for, but never more than an hour. To get the most value out of your session, you will answer a few questions beforehand. We will then coach around your answers. I will also answer any questions you have about coaching and on what programs offered that are best for you. You will then determine if I am the right coach for you.  After a session, there is never an obligation to sign up for a program.

What are the Payment requirements?

The first session is complimentary. Prepayment is required before scheduling your next session.  You can pay by credit card, check or PayPal.

What is your Cancellation policy?

Coaching is a commitment. I encourage you to keep your regularly scheduled appointments, as the results of our work together are cumulative. Even if you feel unprepared, there is a value to be gained from exploring what’s going on. If you are late for an appointment, the agreed upon schedule will still apply, and the session will end at the scheduled time.

I understand that emergencies can happen to anyone; therefore, if an emergency keeps you from attending a session, please contact me whenever possible to let me know the circumstances. Such events as a family emergency, serious accidents or illness are considered “emergencies.” In all other cases, if you miss a session without notice or cancel less than 24 hours in advance, there will be no refund of the session. If you reschedule within the same week, I will waive the penalties.

How do I know if I even need to be Coached?

If you are not where you want to be in your life, I can help get you there! You have all the answers, but you sometimes can’t see what is right in front of you. A coach can see and hear things you are saying that you can’t see and hear for yourself. A coach holds you accountable to take action while supporting you throughout your journey to your best self.

Are the sessions Confidential?

Yes! Your identity as a coaching client and all communications between us will are strictly confidential, to the extent permitted by law, unless you give me express permission to disclose specific information. Clients have allowed me to use their testimonials on my website. Although I will keep all of our sessions confidential, you are welcome to tell others of our work together!

I agree to conduct myself professionally and maintain the ethics and standards set by the International Coach Federation.

Where do the coaching Sessions take place?

The sessions take place either in person, ZOOM video conference call or by phone. You decide what works best for you. Sessions are best in a quiet place free of distractions, to concentrate on our work together.

What can expect after the First Session?

If you agree coaching will work for you and I am the right coach to fit your needs, you will receive a Welcome Packet which will include the following:

  • Coaching & Client Agreement that you must sign before your first session.
  • An invoice for the amount of the coaching package. The sessions will not begin until full payment is received.
  • With the agreement signed and payment is paid you will receive a link to the DISC Personality Assessment that needs to complete before our first session.
  • Worksheets you will be using during our sessions.
  • Plus little surprises.

What is the DISC Personality Assessment?

It’s an assessment that determines your personality traits. This information helps you become aware of your strengths and weaknesses. You are then able to design a business and life around what you do the best. The assessment also provides ways to adapt your personality to get along and sell to others.

What if I didn’t do my Action Steps?

Doing your action steps is essential to progress to change. Although, life happens! These sessions tend to be the best ones. We will discuss why the steps didn’t get completed and then create a plan to set you up for success by the next session.

Can I contact you in between sessions?

Yes! A lot of the work and magic happens in between the sessions. When you hire me as your coach, I am your coach. I am here to support you if you need advice, have a problem or challenge or can’t wait to share a success with me. Please feel free to email me or leave messages on my voicemail. Do you do workshops and retreats?

Yes, I do. I partner with a fellow coach/organizer, and we hold retreats, workshops, and breakout sessions. You can find more information at Joyful You Joyful Business.

What do Custom programs mean?

All my programs are custom to fit your needs. We are all different, and the one size fits all approaches don’t work.

What if coaching isn’t for me?

Coaching is always your choice, and if it is not working for you, you may terminate at any time.

Organizing FAQ’s

What is your process? 

It all begins with a complimentary consultation. At the consultation, we create a plan of action. I will give an estimate of the time of completion and cost and determine if you will need any supplies for your project.

Do I need to purchase supplies?

Not at first. We will determine the supplies needed at the consultation. I will purchase the supplies needed and add the amount to your invoice.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel with 24 hours notice with no penalty. If a real emergency arises, I will waive the penalty if you reschedule and complete the session.

Are the sessions confidential?

Yes, all sessions are confidential. As a member of NAPO, I adhere to their code of ethics.

Are you insured?

Yes, I am fully insured.

Do I need to participate in the session?

It depends on what service you are needing. If you need organizing, you don’t have to participate. If you are decluttering, it is recommended you work with me to decide what you need to keep and let go. If you have a busy schedule, we can work on a plan to make it happen.

What are the payment requirements?

We require payment at the end of each workday. You can pay by check or credit card.

Do you work in teams?

It depends on the size of the job and how quickly you want the project completed. I do work mostly by myself. I do have connections with other professional organizers to create a team if needed.

Custom unpacking jobs are done in a team of three to get you moved in so you can move on with your life. You can find more information at On the Move STL.

What do you do with my unwanted items?

You are always in control of your items, and you make all the decisions regarding them. I will gladly take your donated items to the charity of your choice. I will take as many items that will fit in my vehicle.
